The sand beach between the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor and Oak Street required re-nourishment due to beach erosion. A study was performed to determine the best size and source of sand gain to replenish the 4,550 feet length of coastal beach. Covington established the best size and price to help fight the wind-borne erosion the City was experiencing. Approximately +/- 27,000 cubic yards were required to restore the beach back to the recognized USAGE Beach Template. Covington obtained all required permits, and managed bid and construction phases of the project. Funded by GOMESA, the project duration was 125 days.
