Long Beach Water Management District (LBWMD) Stormwater Management Program

Location: Long Beach, Mississippi
Cost: $1,521,190
Scheduled Completion: February 15, 2020
Services: Engineering, Program Management

Three stormwater drainage canals drain the majority of surface water from the City of Long Beach. As part of a maintenance agreement with the United States Corps of Engineers, the LBWMD is required to maintain the canals to prevent shoaling, erosion of canal banks and obstructions from reducing the flow capacity of the system. Covington was retained by the LBWMD to oversee the maintenance program and any associated repairs. Covington’s scope of work includes inspections, permitting, surveying, engineering, design and construction oversight for the repairs and maintenance of over nine (9) miles of drainage canals.
