Mallini Bayou drains a large portion of Pass Christian and a smaller portion of unincorporated Harrison County. Debris accumulation and shoaling of the bayou occurred at its discharge location into St. Louis Bay causing poor drainage and preventing public access to the bayou. Harrison County hired Covington to permit and design a project to remove the accumulated sediment and debris, mitigate future shoaling and provide bank stabilization around sensitive marsh habitats and high erosion areas. Covington scope of work included preliminary design, permitting (MDMR, Tidelands and USACE), final design and construction oversight.
