Underground Storage Tanks (USTs)

Location: Mississippi
Services: Environmental, Land

Leaking underground petroleum storage tanks (USTs) are a common source of soil and groundwater contamination. The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) regulates USTs, investigates petroleum releases from USTs and oversees the assessment and remediation of resulting petroleum contamination, activities which are primarily conducted by MDEQ-approved Environmental Response Contractors (ERACs). Costs for these activities are reimbursed through the Mississippi Groundwater Protection Trust Fund. Covington is an ERAC, and is also a MDEQ-certified contractor to remove USTs. We have extensive experience in all phases of UST removal, assessment, and remediation.
